In this class, I'll teach you how to make a jointed paper puppet for stop-motion animation. I'll provide you with a thorough list of supplies, design techniques, construction methods, and best practices. By the end of the class you'll have a well-crafted puppet, ready for action! In addition to animation, these puppets can be used for silhouettes in theatrical productions, overhead projections, and other artistic applications. They are a fun crafting activity, too, and make delightful decorations.

About me:

I'm an animation artist and filmmaker. My work is featured internationally at exhibitions including 150 Media Stream, Annecy International Animation Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Brazil’s Festival of Electronic Language and dozens more. I taught animation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for 3 years and am currently on the animation faculty at the School of the Visual Arts in NYC. I'm excited to be teaching here on Skillshare for the first time, after being a devoted Skillshare student for the past 5 years!:)
